Brother Andrew : God's Smuggler

Brother Andrew was Dutch and lived between the two world wars.  He wanted some kind of adventure so he joined the Dutch army.  But he saw that he was being trained to kill people!  He ended up being shot in his ankle and after he recovered, he decided to be a missionary.

Before Andrew went overseas he worked in a chocolate factory.  There was a girl who worked there who was mean and told nasty stories.  When she was teasing a blind girl, Andrew told her to stop it.  He told her that she needed to go to the youth meetings to learn about Jesus.  Because of Brother Andrew, she gave her life to Christ.  Instead of being mean and telling nasty stories, she organized a prayer group and organized the others to help someone when they needed help.  God used Andrew right where he was before he sent him overseas to share the gospel.

When Andrew was doing his missionary work overseas, he had to smuggle bibles into places that weren't allowed to have them.  Andrew asked God to make "seeing eyes blind," which means he didn't want the guards to see the bibles.  Andrew passed by the guards just fine.  They didn't see a thing and the bibles went to people who wouldn't have them otherwise.

Brother Andrew didn't think he could do many things but when he trusted God, all things were possible. He smuggled bibles, brought people to Christ and spread the gospel.  God used Andrew right where he was and he can use you right where you are too!

(CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK)

This week pay attention to how God can use you right where you are, like at work or in your neighborhood.
